Research was conducted on several insect species to determine the feasibility of using N2 as a means of controlling stored-grain insects. Test results show that insects can be controlled in stored grain by replacing most of the O2 with N2. It was shown that insect mortality is a function of the following factors: 1) temperature, 2)insect species, 3) O2 concentration, and 4) exposure time.
