Two samples of sorghum grown on the Texas High Plains were analyzed for amino acid content preliminary to experiements on the simulation of porcine digestive processes. Methods for computing the amino acid content of the sorghum samples were studied to improve the precision of the analyses and eliminate systematic error in the computation of the content of threonine, serine, isoleucine, and valine. Procedures were used to liberate amino acids that were stable to hydrolysis, and correction was made for destruiction of threonine and serine or for the incomplete hydrolysis of isoleucyl or valyl peptide bonds.
