Investing in Cereal and Grain Science and Supporting Research
The aim of the Cereals & Grains Association Research Council is to fund scientific projects related to the cereals and grains industries. The Council will solicit and fund project proposals that focus on developing grain science advancements that result in new research advancements, methods, publications, presentations, etc., to benefit the Cereals & Grains Association’s membership at large. Research of particular interest might include:
- Methodologies for non-wheat for applicability in breadmaking/baking
- Non-allergenic gluten replacement/alternative market
- Upcycling grain materials and quality
- Regenerative agriculture grain quality
- Rapid methods for existing wet chemistry methods
- Process innovations for unlocking functionality
- Nutrition topics that could include everything from microbiome or gut-brain access through ingredient constituent parts of grains impact on biology
- Sensory aspects of grain products
Project grants range on average from $5,000 up to $25,000. Grants will cover one year of funding. If additional funding is requested beyond a one-year duration, a new proposal must be submitted and will be evaluated by the
Cereals & Grains Association Research Council.
