A Physician’s Perspective on Food: Interview with Christine Wallace, MD
Primary care practitioners (PCPs) are on the front lines of health care and are typically a patient’s first point of contact with the health-care system. PCPs provide preventive care, disease management, and referrals to specialists. They are also considered by the public to be both a reliable and credible source of nutritional information. Given that PCPs have a unique perspective on food and its impact on patient health, we thought it prudent to provide Cereal Foods World readers with a first-hand account of how one PCP views carbohydrates and dietary recommendations and her thoughts about the food industry. We are pleased to present an interview with Dr. Christine Wallace, a physician from Cincinnati, OH, who is part of the TriHealth Weight Management Team.
